Lecture on Civil War Photographer George N. Barnard at UT

© George N. Barnard As part of their ongoing Civil War Lecture series, the McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture will be hosting a talk on Civil War photographer George N. Barnard given by curator Joan Markel. Barnard was one of the most important photographers to chronicle the impact of the Civil War and is well known for his documentation of the aftermath of General Sherman's campaign through the South. This lecture, happening on Sunday, February 23rd from 2-3:30pm, will focus on his life and career, including images he made in Knoxville. For more information or directions, click here .

ETSU Students Recognized by Photographer's Forum Magazine

Photographer's Forum Magazine recently announced the winners of their 34th Annual College & High School Photography Contest and ETSU had a strong showing of student winners. In total, four undergraduate students were finalists in the competition - Alan Beuris, Megan King, Kalani Odum and Trish Gibson. Additionally, one of our current graduate students in photography, Amber Law, was awarded an honorable mention for her entry. All of their images will be included in a book published by Serbin Communications later this year but you can check out all of the winning entries  here . Congratulations to everyone!
