William Arrowood's BFA Capstone Exhibition at the Reece Museum

William Arrowood's series of photographs, Essential, is on view in the Spring 2021 Bachelor of Fine Arts Senior Exhibition at the Reece Museum from March 29 - April 30. Essential is a look into the home-improvement retail industry impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. William's series documents what retail workers struggled with on a daily basis, such as the enhanced safety measures, stock level issues, empty shelves, and social distancing. Being part of this business provided William an insider's view and greater accessibility to observe the trials of the retail environment during the pandemic. Throughout this project, William strives to create compelling images that show the extent of how these environments have changed and how the employees are coping in such times. William previously received a Presidential Purchase Award selection in the 2018 ETSU BFA Honor Show and will be graduating with his Bachelor of Fine Arts in May 2021.
